| A day in the life at Smith Mountain Lake… |
5:45am As the end of a much needed good night’s sleep comes to an end your One Home system begins preparing you for a day that has not yet begun. The outside lights that have been burning throughout the night fade away just as the sun glistens across the lake.
6:02am As the alarm clock sounds in your ears, the lights in the kitchen, master bathroom and family room rise to a soft glow – just enough light to get around, but not too much before coffee. You smile as you step into the shower knowing your home is working for you.
6:37am Dressed and ready for another day you head off to the kitchen noticing that the lights have now moved up to full strength – just right for preparing breakfast. As your bacon fries in the skillet you approach your in-wall touch screen to check the weather forecast for the day.
7:26am As you leave for work in the morning, you push a button on your keychain to arm your security system, which also signals the system to turn off any lights that were left on inside.
8:34am You remember that the landscapers are coming by your house late in the day to trim some of your bushes. From your computer at the office you log in to your One Home system and turn the irrigation system off so the regular late afternoon watering doesn't interfere with their work.
1:07pm From your office you check your home voicemail over the Internet to see who has called. From the list of messages you see that most are for your spouse, and the one message for you is an expected RSVP from a friend for dinner.
2:52pm You receive an email from the house informing you that someone has disarmed the security. You check in to confirm that you daughter is safely home from school.
5:51pm It is now dark outside, and you arrive home to see that your driveway and front entryway lights have been turned on automatically. With the push of a button on the keychain, you disarm the security system and turn on inside entrance and hallway lights. You rest easy knowing you've arrived at a secure, comfortable, well lighted house.
6:13pm You sit down in your favorite chair and with your Wireless Tablet you browse your music collection and create a playlist for your dinner party. From the chair, you also check the rest of your voicemail messages and read the latest news on the Internet.
7:08pm Your guests begin to arrive, and with the push of a button you set your lighting for your entertainment atmosphere, and then start to play your music.
11:04pm After an enjoyable evening you head to your room to prepare for a trip out of town. You relax because you know the OneHome system will allow you to monitor and control your home from anywhere you have Internet access or a telephone.
11:33pm It's time for bed, and with the push of a button you turn off all remaining lights, and arm your security system. Another successful day, compliments of your OneHome system. |
